. back to you. >> thank you. >>> a developing story. bay area commuters, you have a big reprieve. golden gate ferry service boats going to run on schedule today. anne makovec in larkspur. marin county with why the strike has suddenly been called off. she has more. good morning. >> reporter: i just got off the phone with the union spokesman who says, they were thinking about striking so they wanted to let the public know that they were thinking about striking so the public wasn't surprised. then the golden gate bridge district decided to go ahead and call off the service because they didn't want people to be surprised either. so there is confusion between the union and the district, no surprise. we heard of these contract negotiations getting out of control before. in this case it was going to end up in a one-day strike here for golden gate ferry service between larkspur where i'm standing, san francisco, and sausalito all ferry service was going to be cancelled for the day. this morning it turns out that workers showed up for work. so there will be no disruption in service today. certain

be a good time to buy. sluggish demand and lots of supply is pushing down prices on the big boxes. you can now find a 50" 3-d set for $400. that's less than half the cost it was just a year ago. and if you would rather read, the cost of a kindle continues to drop too. amazon now sells a version of its ebook for just $114, but do you have to put up with some advertising along with your reading. and there's word a $100 version is on the way. finally netflix. yes, customers were furious when the san jose company recently changeddist its pricing plan for the combo package but people with just one dvd at a time are seeing the price drop. netflix has slashed the cost of that service from $10 a month to just $8. now, some other things that are getting cheaper, prepaid debit cards. after a lot of complaints, some companies are reducing all those fees and the cost of in ground swimming pools has taken a dive. sales are down 75% so some pool makers are doing anything to get home owners to jump in. >> that's probably one thing you won't be getting. >> no. i don't have any room for it. >> on the house

that's been holding strong the past few days but that big change that's in store is because of this area of low pressure that's going to drop down. we are going to start to see that marine layer build. and that means we are going to see some cooler temperatures significantly cooler temperatures by the time we hit next workweek but for today, plenty of sunshine. get outside and enjoy it. high of 83 today in los altos and sunnyvale. 86 high in campbell. milpitas topping out at 84 and union city at 80. over in the east bay, seeing a few mid-90s in pittsburg, antioch and brentwood, 94 the high in san ramon, 74 in alameda, 72 san leandro and 77 in hayward. 85 today for san rafael warmer in fairfield at 92, mill valley topping out at 75 and 6as a high at stinson beach -- 60 as a high at stinson beach. extended forecast showing a cooldown for the weekend and really cooling down for the start of the next workweek dropping down not 90s to the 80s and then -- dropping down into the 90s to the 80s and then mid-70s by the time we hit wednesday. let's check traffic with elizabeth. >> i t
